HERMES INTERNATIONAL CREATIVE AWARD
In 2015, the Town of Mount Pleasant Planning and Development Department reached out to Legend to ask students to help with creating their full-color annual report and their staff calendar. Led primarily by then-photo editor and future S.C. Scholastic Journalist of the Year Sophie Winnick, the staff used its photography and design skills to fashion a beautiful document and calendar that brought true Mount Pleasant and Charleston feel to the project.
The Town of Mount Pleasant entered the work in the Hermes Creative Awards contest, an international marketing/PR competition and one of the oldest of its kind in the world.
The 2016 P&D project received a Platinum Award, the same honor that year as Time Warner, Pepsi, Sony Pictures, and The Principal Financial Group. See who else received a Platinum Honor that same year here.
The town once again partnered with Legend in 2016-17, but this time just requested photography assistance and used their own design templates. The project received a Gold Award from Hermes Creative Awards in 2017. The P&D department now has its own full-time staff to create the report.
