WHAT IS LEGEND?
|
Legend is the award-winning yearbook of Wando High School, South Carolina's largest public high school and located in Mount Pleasant. Legend is a student-run publication and is advised by teacher Phillip Caston. The 2024 Legend will mark the 51st volume of the yearbook. Forty students, all chosen through application and interview process, comprise the staff.
Over 1,800 copies of Legend are sold each year to the student body, and each copy contains about 400 full-color pages representing all aspects of life and history of the students at Wando. It is the best-selling yearbook in the state of South Carolina. Legend proudly partners with Jostens to publish its book each year, and Tumbleston Photography photographs all student and faculty portraits. Legend is a member of the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association, the Southern Interscholastic Press Association, the National Scholastic Press Association, Quill and Scroll, and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Approximately 2,700 students call Wando High School home. Wando has maintained an excellent rating every year since the inception of South Carolina's accountability program and offers one of the most diverse curricula in the country. Wando has been named one of the best high schools in the country by US News and World Report. |
